ORAL MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY
Does your child mouthbreath? Have they been in speech therapy for YEARS with limited progress? Are they a picky eater? These are just a few signs that your child might have an orofacial myofunctional disorder (OMD).
We often see signs of an OMD from day one when an infant has difficulty latching and feeding. We start to see more signs when they struggle to transition between food textures. When they start talking, we sometimes hear and see speech sound errors.
We provide evaluation to determine the underlying cause of speech and feeding/swallowing deficits and address those issues with an individualized exercise plan.
