Feeding and Swallowing

We evaluate and treat clients with feeding and swallowing impairment.

Did you know that 1 in 4 children have a feeding disorder? What you might think is picky eating could actually be an underlying medical condition such as delayed oral motor skills, sensory aversion, reflux, or oropharyngeal dysphagia. 

For adults we offer the most up to date and evidence based therapy methods. We follow the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program which is a specific protocol that has years of research supporting its effectiveness in treating swallowing impairment. We also use respiratory muscle strength training (RMST) which is used to strengthen the entire speech and swallowing system for overall better cough strength, respiration, breathing and swallowing.

We also offer Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). We use a small endoscope and go in through the nasal passage and look at the structures in the throat and assess function for swallowing.
